RULES
Jr Stand Battle – This category is for the ages/grade 12yrs-under or 6th grade-under. The stand battle works like a single elimination bracket tournament. The teams draw numbers and/or randomly paired together. Each pair take turns trying to out dance each other. Each team receives 2 rounds per song. The Junior division will dance to a medium or fast song selection.
**Teams must have at least 5 or more dancers to participate in the Stand Battle division.
Sr Stand Battle - The stand battle works like a single elimination bracket tournament. The teams draw numbers and/or randomly paired together. Each pair take turns trying to out dance each other. Each team receives 2 rounds to a medium and fast song. This is the most intense of all the categories.
**Teams must have at least 5 or more dancers to participate in the Stand Battle division.
TIE BREAKER - In case of a tie the judges will decide whether the tie breaker will be a slow, medium, or fast stand each team will get 2 rounds. Teams are NOT allowed to cross the center line at any time during the stand battle. Doing so will result in your team being disqualified.
JUDGING: Stand Battle judging will be based on the following:
 Execution of movements
 Technique
 Synchronization
 Creativity
 Originality
 Confidence and SWAGG (style)
JUDGING SCORING SCALE 1-20
*Perfect-20
*Good-15
*Average-10
*Good Effort-5
*Need Improvement-1
NOTE: At no time are Directors, Coaches, volunteers, team members, or spectators allowed to approach the judging table or judges. Doing so could result in your team being disqualified from the category they are currently performing in.
PROPS- Small props and Human props are allowed. If your team will utilize props they must be checked in at the Check In desk for approval.
COACHES- No coaching allowed from the sideline. If any dancers from opposing teams (or PARENTS) display ANY form of disrespectful/unethical behavior that team will be disqualified and may be escorted off the premises.
FACILITY- Because of limited amount of space only dancers and 3 coaches will be allowed in the dressing areas. We ask the dancers to use the dressing areas instead of the restrooms. Restrooms will be open to the public spectators.
REGISTRATION/DEADLINE
REGISTRATION ENTRY FEE $50
Registration must be submitted with payment 30 days prior to the event date. Late registration must be submitted by JULY 1st and will be charged a $25.00 late fee.
ONLINE REGISTRATION: Please email (showupshowoutnc@gmail.com) the DANCER/COACHES REGISTRATION FORM, LIABILITY, AND MEDIA RELEASE FORM after payment is made. List all dancer’s name, and age as of January 1, 2017. Along with the list of dancers and head captain please include the names of 2 representative (Director and Judge) from your dance organization. Permitted performers ages are 4-18 years of age.

It is the responsibility of each dance group to monitor all belongings. ShowUp ShowOut will NOT be responsible for any lost/stolen items. This is a family friendly event all dance selections must be respectful and tasteful….
